I think that the idea the two characters have come with is silly, and won't do anything. If you choose to ignore reality, it only gets worse. Why would you settle for second best when you could easily accomplish the best? I think that the message the author is trying to get across is that if you give up, then others will give up, too. Also, I think ignorance makes you happy for a while, but then when reality hits you, it hits you harder then it did before you chose to ignore it. The world will only get worse when you choose to accept that it has problems. I feel the same at times, but I never stick to that decision for more then 15 mins... And then I go back to my better choice; back to changing it through little things. Being the change is better then ignoring the problems.
The above was Gabi's
I think that this cartoon is demonstrating how people would rather ignore whats really going in the world than try to make a difference. For example, The character with his head in the sand just doesn't care what happens, and if he doesn't care he doesn't have to do anything at all, and the other guy realizes he expected t try to make a difference but since he decided to ignore the problems today he we feels as though he doesn't have to do anything and that he is relieved to get that off his back.

I look at the situation this way:
Another person comes and asks them what they are doing and that person decides that he/she should do the same. After a while, the whole world is ignoring the problems. They wait and wait for any more people to to take action and change the world but it doesn't happen. They realize that everyone wants to wait for someone else. All the work that needs to happen doesn't happen because everyone decides that ignoring the problems would magicly get rid of the problems.
I know standing out and acting to make a change is hard. It takes bravery and courage. But if you really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really want something to happen getting the courage to do it is not that hard.

I think this cartoon is trying to get across that some people think that sticking their head in the sand is something that you should do if life gets hard. Well it's not you should never just give up because that's just going to make everything (including life) worse.

I think the author is trying to tell us that people are just ignoring the fact taht things are happening in the world that arn't acceptable. People are littering-- almost no one recycles, its giving us a worning that if we dont to something--we will end up like that pig, under the influance of someone else that believes that he can't make a diffornce.
I think that ignoring all the problems in the world is like living in a vactume. People all over are portest, and if someone can't see that--they're in a vacume. It takes some one who knows the standards and sactifeses of helping other people to make a difforence. If people suck there head in the sand--they would live inside a world full of lies.

The author is trying to say that some people would rather ignore reality instead of making an effort to change it just because it is easier. You can't just ignore all the problems in the world even if you can't solve all the world's problems you should at least make an effort.

I think the artist (or author) is trying get across that, if you have your head stuck in the gutter...nothing will be completed if you have your head stuck in the gutter. Its fun to sometimes be up there...but its time to face reality.
but that's just how I see it.

I think that the author of the comic strip is trying to say that, if you are stuck in a bad place then you won't really accomplish something. Also, if your down and people try to help you sometimes they just get down too, because it's easier to get pulled down then to pull someone back up. You can never run away from reality, it's just they way I see it and it's they way i think it is.

I think that they are trying to forget how harsh the reality of it is by just ignoring the world by sticking there head in the sand. If you have your head in the sand it is saying that you basically see what you can complete in your life instead of being down in sand where you can ignore reality so watch out here comes reality. It is time to face the music and get off your butt and make a change. He is try to tell us that you have to face the reality somewhere in life. I would say that you would still have to face it because you need to know what is going on. I feel the same way but still feel the reality of it.

I think the message the author is trying to ge across is, that ingnoring reality may feel like a relief at the beggining but in the end it is not. If you just ignore what happens around you you can't make a change but if you try to help out and fix things it can change things around you. "Sticking your head in the sand" is the wrong thing to do you shouldn't ignore things you should make them better.

I think that the message that the author iss trying to get accross is that your actions can be contagious. When you are having a bad day, you shoudln't "stick your head in the sand" because it will only make things worse and it may affect other people's feelings.

I think this comic strip relates to what many people might do in reality. I don't think they made the right choice though. Ignoring your problems doesn't help you move on, you will have to go back to reality sooner or later. It is much better to face reality than hide from it. In reality many people might make this choice to do the same because they think it is too hard to change reality. And as you see in the comic strip, what one does affects others too. You have to be strong and face your problems, so you can be a positive role model for others.

I think the author is trying to make us understand that you can’t ignore what is happening just by saying you can, and in the cartoon thay don’t want to change what is happening. I feel that it is wrong not to try to help with the problems. Nothing would happen if no one helps.
Mia
I think the writer is trying get across that, if you have your head stuck in a hole/ and...like an ostrich, nothing happens, because ur hiding from life. Its fun to sometimes be up there and have ur head in a hole...but other times, it needs to help out of that hole and helping out....
but that's just how I see it.

I think what this author is trying to say is that there are many people that just ignore all the problems around them. That that that is their way to deal with all the big problems because they are just to lazy to do anything about it. So what you should really do is confront the problems and try to change them by doing something about it and not just do as if it isn't there.

In these comic pictures I think the author is trying to tell people that ignoring the world and its problems is at first the best way to find a solution or just trying to calm yourself down, but in the end I would say that ignoring is the worst thing you can do because it doesn’t change anything it’s just like ignoring something that’s bugging you, but the problem is that it will keep bugging you. So I would say instead of ignoring reality you should at least try to make a change!
Rasmus
In this comic, they are trying to show people that facing reality is harder than ignoring it. If you want something done you cannot "stick your head in the sand" and wait for somebody else to do it, because, more than likely, they are sticking their heads in the sand too.
-Amy
I think the author is tring to say that some people would rather ignore problems and facts than face up to them because they think ignorance is bliss. To me it also seems like this comic is tring to say that the way you act, or in this case don't act, can rub off on people and cause them to act the same way. I feel differently because even though there are some things I think would be easier to forget about, I know I still have to confront them.
-Kaylynn
I think the author is saying if you stick you head in or ignore everything you may miss opertunaties that you may want to take or do.I think author is trying to say if you hind it may be fine for some time but then the truth will come back and get you. I feel the same way because look at this way if you have to turn in a paper and you keep wait and waiting to turn it in then you may get away with it at first but then when your teacher get trierd of waiting you will get a 0 and this is the thing that will come back to get you
